BriBry (Brian O’Reilly) is a 21 year old musician and Irish YouTube personality. BriBry featured in Hotpress Magazine ‘Hot for 2011’, appears regularly on Dublin’s 98FM and has also done some television work. Brian’s series on YouTube, “Things to do before you die” is immensely popular and his viewership in growing at a phenomenal rate. BriBry on Tour, Brian’s channel currently has over 22,000 subscribers and his videos have been viewed almost one million times. Each episode, updated weekly, centres around BriBry completing various challenges he has set himself which form part of a list of things he would like achieve in his lifetime.
In 2010 a close friend of Brian’s, Ross Nugent, was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare type of cancer. Ross’s family have since set up a registered charity, The Ross Nugent Foundation, with the aim of raising money for the oncology ward at Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital and cancer research. So far thousands of euros have been raised for the cause. Tragically, Ross succumbed to his cancer and passed away on May 15th 2010. He was 18 years old.
As well as the YouTube series, BriBry’s original music is available on iTunes. Wristbands and other memorabilia are also available for purchase through Brian’s website. Since Ross’s passing Brian has used ‘Things to do before you die’ to raise money and awareness for The Ross Nugent Foundation.
In April 2011 Brian will be taking his series around the world, recording episodes from the far reaches of the globe and spreading awareness and the message of The Ross Nugent Foundation
Harry & Alfie – Brian has recently experienced a lot of exposure from fellow YouTubers with large followings both in Ireland and abroad. One of the most active of Brian’s YouTube connections is Harry & Alfie [Hudson-Taylor], musicians and brothers from Dublin who are releasing their first single later this year.Harry & Alfie’s YouTube channel has over 6000 subscribers and they also command a large following on social networks Facebook and Twitter. Brian met Harry and Alfie through YouTube and together they have done several collaborations over the past six months.
‘Bye-Bye BriBry’ is a joint project by Harry & Alfie and BriBry and will be broadcast from Harry and Alfie’s house.
